Lying on the bathroom floor, clutching a violently revolting stomach, is never a good way to start the day--and realizing that it's your own fault hardly makes it any better.
The vitamins! I gasped. I took a handful of immunity-boosting vitamins on an empty stomach... which triggered a memory: this is what I actually did ON PURPOSE as a teen to get out of going to school!
The system was pretty flawless, actually. Suck a Cold-Eeze at seminary, and by the time class was over, I was SO sickened from the zinc on an empty stomach that I could pass for sick, curl up in bed back at home, and end up with a lovely day off to laze around in bed, reading a book - the sickness passed within a few hours, after all.
But as an adult with a very busy schedule? Not really such a convenient thing!!! Especially when it's a complete accident, not a complicit scheme.
*sigh*
What are some of the crazy things you did in earlier years that make you look back and go, "What was I thinking?!?!?!"

If I Only Had a Brain...
You know, despite a full plate, I don't feel like I'm spread too thinly.
Well... but then I do things like:
- Mailing a check to my Mary Kay lady without a stamp (apparently those are still mandatory for USPS to deliver?)
- Showing up for an event a full week early... not once but TWICE in an eight-day period (but on the upside, now I know where I'm going, right?)
- Grabbing hot pans and cookie sheets with my bare hands (which are not made of asbestos, last I checked)
- Making soup for an injured cousin but forgetting to bring it to family dinner... so we set up a lunch date for me to bring it, and I forgot it again
- Giving my darling newlywed cousin her wedding present six months late - and in two parts, because despite making it cutely themed around a recipe, I managed to forget to include the recipe
- Putting a receipt somewhere where I won't lose it - and then completely forgetting where that was (just found it! Two weeks after I made the return sans receipt, of course...)
- Oh, and I'm still chipping away at Christmas cards. No matter that it's past Valentine's Day. Better late than never, right?
Good grief. If someone finds where the other half of my brain went, would you please send it back my way? I really, really need that grey matter...
